A 9-year-old girl, McKenzie Nicole Adams, has committed suicide after she was bullied by her schoolmates for being in friendship with a white boy in school, her family has said.
Nicole suffered a year of intense abuse from her peers at US Jones Elementary School in Alabama before she eventually took her own life.
It was gathered that on December 3, she hung herself in her room at her home in Linden. Her body was found by her granny.
Her family said she had been teased over her friendship with a white boy by bullies at her school, and she was told “her to kill herself”.
Her aunt Eddwina Harris told the Tuscaloosa News:
She was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as ‘Kill yourself…you think you’re white because you ride with that white boy…you ugly.. black (expletive)…just die’.
McKenzie had transferred from another school where she had also been the victim of abuse from other students.
